Lord
Byron, British poet born in 1788.
The rivalry between Byron and Keats was mainly
because of jealousy. Byron belonged to an upper class aristocratic family,
therefore was accepted in society and had great success. On the other hand,
Keats struggled as a middle class poet, being critized for his work as soon as
published. Byron stated that he disliked Keats’ work on an aesthetic level
while Keats described Byron’s work as overrated and unoriginal.
